	After the deluge An abstract watercolour painted in response to the watermeadows at the edge of the village that frequently flood after heavy rain or a high tide. I've used hand-made paper from Two rivers mill in Somerset, whose outstanding properties take up as much water as you want to throw on it while allowing the pigments to stay crisp and bright on the surface. Indigo and aureolin yellow in loosely applied washes create a moody feel to this piece. The paper is of course acid free and will help to preserve the quality of this painting.
